Long Distance Calls!

The excitement has been building up; the corresponding expectations have skyscraped over (if there is such a word!!) But is this reasonable? Am I looking for too much. . .But then. . . it has been six months . . . i want to see all of them so badly that it hurts . . . the woman who has pledged her troth with me for life, who has suffered my good and my bad, her eyes doe like in its softness, in its beauty . . . my daughter, who at eight is growing up so fast that i want to stop the furious passage of time, wanting to make these dear days last and last. . . the cherubic, eversmiling, avataar/reincarnation of the one who we lost, with his pudgy limbs and chubby cheeks. . . .The calls from across the seas are ringing in my mind. . . and Happiness. . . leaving in the next few hours. . . long hours across the seas will vanish in a moment. . . counting the minutes to see my raison d'etre!!!!!

My Son

Lusty cries, gleeful smiles,
Laughs filled with laughter.

Translucent skin & Chubby limbs,
Tiny fingers knotted into fists!

As I gaze at this marvel of God's creation,
I feel my heart bursting with love.

A love so pure,
Filled with the wanting to care,
wanting to hold close,
wanting to protect.

Is it blood that bonds us?
Is it nature?
Is the answer blended in the twists of time?
Does one have to find answers?
Or go along, thank God,
Savor the joys that an angel brings to the home?
